"A great read! Tess Monaghan,Private Investigator, opens her agency to not one, but two cases; the first a murder, the second a child given up for adoption 13 years prior. Ms. Lippman does a great job of pacing Tess's work on both cases. While the cases do not intersect, each speaks volumes on the foster care system; those who are its wards and those who work within it."

Devices and Desires by P D James
"P D James is a favorite English mystery author. She is a great storyteller with a tremendous amount of description. You will learn to love Commander Adam Dalgliesh of New Scotland Yard. This particular book was written in 1989 so there is not a lot of electronic gadgets available. The author has an extraordinary command of the English, English language so maybe you want a dictionary near by. This story does not have the usual characters of a P D James novel, however Commander Dalgliesh does quite well on his own. I hope you will become a fan of this extraordinary collection of English mysteries. Happy Reading."
